There is some good news on SOPA during the last 24 hours. First, the Obama White House has responded to the SOPA petitions with a statement: “not support legislation that reduces freedom of expression, increases cyber security risk, or undermines the dynamic, innovative global Internet.” This is not exactly a death knell for the bill but it helps to have the White House on the record.
Second bill sponsor Sen. Patrick Lehey (D-VT) has agreed to remove the DNS provision from SOPA.
