Intel Test Oil Cooled Servers

Intel has completed a year long test of immersing servers in oil to cool the server rather than using air cooling. The result show the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of oil server at 1.03 versus a PUE for air cooled servers. There is no word from Intel if they will begin to retrofit their server farms to oil cooling but it does leave the possibility that Intel might begin producing oil cooled servers – GigaOM
